Setup Keepass

KeepassXC is a free and open-source password manager that allows you to securely store and manage your passwords. Here's how you can set it up:

Step 1: Install KeepassXC

To install KeepassXC on Ubuntu, open a terminal and run the following command:

sudo apt install keepassxc

Step 2: Launch KeepassXC

Once the installation is complete, you can launch KeepassXC from the application menu or by running the following command in the terminal:

keepassxc

Step 3: Create a New Database

Upon launching KeepassXC for the first time, you will be prompted to create a new database. Choose a secure location to save the database file and set a strong master password to protect your passwords.

Step 4: Add Password Entries

With the KeepassXC database open, you can start adding password entries. Click on the "Add Entry" button and fill in the required information, such as the website, username, and password.

Step 5: Generate Strong Passwords

KeepassXC also provides a password generator to help you create strong and unique passwords. Click on the "Generate Password" button and customize the settings to generate a password that meets your requirements.

Step 6: Auto-Type Passwords

KeepassXC has a built-in auto-type feature that allows you to automatically fill in login forms with your saved passwords. To use this feature, select an entry and press Ctrl + V to auto-type the username and password into the active window.

Step 7: Sync and Backup

To ensure the safety of your passwords, it's recommended to regularly sync and backup your KeepassXC database. You can use cloud storage services or other backup methods to keep your database secure and accessible across multiple devices.
